So this Thanksgiving I will not be alone all day long as I first thought! It is all thanks to my inability to remain inobtrusive when people I don't know are talking about something I love dearly. As it turns out I made a few friends so I guess my talkative nature is good for something. This happened last Thursday and on Saturday I was escorted about and showed the must see's of their Chicago neighborhood.
Angela: Taller than me with dark wavy hair and brown eyes. She looks sharp at first glance as though guarded, but she has a really nice laugh and is quite funny.
Caitlin: About my height, with sandy shoulder length hair, and hazel (?) eyes. She is a bit more shy and very quiet. Rather meek, but I think she is sweet and endearing.
Then there is Amy: A bit taller than myself with dark brown hair and blue eyes. A bit loud when she talks and a bit long winded, but really agreeable non the less.
Angela invited me over to her family's thanksgiving dinner and says I won't be a bother as she has tons of cousins and they won't notice one more person in the house. This is so great and awesome! I'm going to make a apple pie tomorrow to bring with me so I don't come empty handed.

Another beautiful day. Am so very glad its the weekend. I'm so tired and i've caught a cold, but nothing major just a little one. Got it probably from one of the munchkins. In other news I was clothes shopping the other day and I think I need to go on a diet :( I've can't fit into wat-mart's teen large sizes anymore, and I have big love handles. Stupid dressing room mirrors...
So i've decided to stay away from pizzas, and cheesy concoctions and try to minimize my portion sizes. Don't know if this will help me out, but i'm hoping it will. Depressing really, despite the beautiful day.

**CAUTION: Painful bodily harm has transpired... read with CAUTION**
Me being my clumsy occasional self stubbed my toe on a piece of uneven pavement and flipped my big toe's nail back. It hurt soo bad!! At the moment I couldn't stop where I was and take a look at the damage so I limped on until I came to a bench. Walking there I could tell something was wrong because I could feel what I thought was a broken nail. On sitting down I took of my shoe and yeah there was some blood, but also the nail was still flipped back. I tried to press it back into place, but had to give that up due to the curse implicating pain brought on by this action. So I turned back and limped to my apartment; sat down and had to clip off the nail part that was still sticking up.
Afterward I wrapped up my assaulted toe and was comforted by my cats purring.

I finished early with my mentor and caught a bus to the park. The sun was starting to set and it was so beautiful out. I saw other people lying on the grass and plopped down myself under the shade of a tree. Using my backpack as a pillow I enjoyed the autumn clouds and caught up with Michael over my cell.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful, but safe Halloween!!

My jack'o'lantern is burning bright and I just finished watching The Exorcist and Psycho.
No haunted houses this year, and no parties. I did dress up though! I've got my cowgirl
outfit and a six shooter with rifle for the occasional trick or treater.

Hey all, I'm on my lunch break right now so I decided to take a moment and update. Chicago is a lovely city. Fall is in full swing and its just the perfect temp so far. I've found a park, church, movie theater, and several shopping centers not too far from my apartment so far. So far my internship is going well, I think. The teacher I'm assigned to is Ms. Pickett and she's really awesome! You can tell the kids really like her and absorb much from her lessons. Its kinda funny though because I'm in seated in one of those little desks, with my notebook, surrounded by little kids.
After each class day Ms. Pickett and I sit down and talk a bit about the days lesson and how things worked out. Then we discuss tomorrows lesson and what we plan to bring up and how best to approach each subject. It is a pretty cool process, but I can see how it can become tedious if your not careful.

You Are Carmel Apple Cider |
![]() You are a total charmer. You are smooth enough to put people at ease, and sweet enough to make them smile. You dazzle people without even meaning to. You just try to be yourself, and that's always enough. You are a naturally generous person. You go the extra mile for others, without even thinking about it or being asked. You have an eye for detail, and you like to add that little finishing touch to meals, decorating, and your own personal style. Like the caramel in the apple cider! |

The days are getting shorter. The night flies swiftly to those on their way home. As you notice the lengthening shadows you quicken your pace, but to no avail. The pathway trips your every step as the birds mock you overhead. Your heart starts to pound as you realize with the rising fog that you can not see the road that once stood plainly before your eyes. You are lost in the dark, and are all alone... or are you?

Deep Down You Are Intuitive |
![]() You're the type of person who understands other people and the world very well. You don't let on to how much you know. You can tell so much from someone's facial expressions or tone of voice. And you always know when you're being lied to. You show the world exactly what you want to show. Besides being good at reading people, you also know how you're being read. You know when you're being manipulated, and you know how to manipulate someone if you have to. You usually don't resort to it though! |

Fall is finally here this year!! It felt great outside this morning. I'm leaving next week for my internship in Chicago, and i'm still thinking of what to bring. Lucena, my cat, is coming with me :-) Tomorrow i'm going out and getting a Hennah tattoo at a place downtown. It is really cool and fun to show off. Mmmmm pixie sticks, picked some up and they are soo good! Reminds me of being a kid and downing 2 or 3 at a time.

Don't know why i'm so worried about leaving. Just wish Michael could come with me. We'd have a blast in Boston, i'm sure!! I'm going to make him something special before I go. Not sure exactly the details, but its going to be pretty special.

I'm conflicted.. I want to stay in Hockley where my friends are and my mom lives, but my dream has always been to travel. I have a chance to go to Boston for a three month internship, but this could put a strain on my relationship with Michael. Somehow, I think this may make or break us, but it could be a good thing. If its meant to be it will be and if its not, we both need to be saved the dissapointment a long engagement would cost us. Ok, I think I've made up my mind and im going! Yes! I'm going!
I'll do everything to make it work though, we can write, text, twitter, IM, send smoke signals, and throw gang signs over the webcam!! Wow, i'm so excited!

You wash dishes in the bathroom sink.
You’ve fallen off a loft bed.
The standard of meals per day falls to two, sometimes just one.
Quarters are like gold.
You try to study but seem to procrastinate by eating, going to study breaks, talking
to people, etc...
You've traveled with bags of dirty clothes.
You recognize the meat in the dorm soup as yesterday's meatloaf, and thus decide
to eat a nice bowl of cereal - a safe bet for any meal.
Visits home depend on how much money you have for gas.
You skip one class to write a paper for another.
You stay up late to finish homework then sleep through the class in which it
was due.
You've written a check for 45 cents or stopped to get $2.00 of gas.
Care packages rank right up there with birthdays.
Going to the grocery at midnight is completely normal.
You've paid bills over $5... in coins.
Hoodies and sweatpants become the norm - jeans are considered "dressy"
at certain occasions... like school.
A canceled class is almost as exciting as Christmas.
Taking a nap in the library is perfectly acceptable
You take condiment packets and napkins from fast food restaurants
- hey, they're free.
You press the automatic door opener instead of simply grabbing the handle
when you approach a door.
Class size doubles on exam days.
You are no longer thankful that fire alarms are here to protect you.
There's always a "question kid" in at least one of your classes, and you
really wish someone would just tell him/her to shut the hell up.
You've eaten cereal out of a cup... with a fork.
You check ratemyprofessor.com (or something of the like) before choosing
your class schedule.

Hello my lovelies!!! I have a new skin tone this late Sunday afternoon. Want to know what it is?
Well ok... its crab red. After spending all day today and yesterday out on the lake its finally come back to bite me. Chad got a boat for his birthday this past June, and I finally got to ride in it! Drove down with Aaron, Michael, and Sara, loaded up the boat and set sail. It was pretty awesome! Us girls laid out and sun bathed, the boys fished, I got to take a turn at the "helm" :-] , we took turns jumping off into the lake and swimming. Didn't even need to land we had food on board and soda's in the cooler.
Really should have put on more sunscreen though. Now i'm burnt and battling a headache. Think i'll go get a cool bath and take some knock out stuff and skip off to bed.

How can they ask me what I see in him? When I look into his eyes all I see is truth, caring, faith, and a true understanding. His smile lights up my day and makes my heart jump in my chest. Are my friends that immature that they have lost the real meaning of dating.. to find someone to spend your life with? It is not for a few months of careless flirting and then tossing someone aside for a more delicious candy.
